Fourteen teams compete in Cowboy Kickoff Classic

Rohn team shoots 62 to win tournament

In a close contest, Dennis Rohn’s team won the Xcel Energy tournament Saturday at Meeker Golf Course with a score of 62. Members of the winning team were, from left, Tim and Cindy Nelson, Bill de Vergie and Rohn.

MEEKER I “This event will continue to grow in popularity,” local golf pro Jim Cook said of the Xcel Energy Luau, played last Saturday at Meeker Golf Course. “It’s a really fun event.”

Two-day wrestling clinic in Meeker

MEEKER I Charlie Falck, who was a senior University of Iowa wrestler, and Phil Keddy, who will be a senior for the Hawkeyes, will give a two-day clinic July 22 and 23 at Barone Middle School in Meeker.
