Meeker graduate Kaysyn Chintala continues education with basketball

Meeker High School graduate Kaysyn Chintala, is seen here talking with her Northwest Kansas Technical College coach, Landon Steele, during the most recent season, where Chintala set school records in three-point shots and assists. Chintala, who started college playing volleyball, will now continue her education and play on the basketball court at an undecided four-year school.

MEEKER I Meeker High School graduate Kaysyn Chintala went to Colby Community College in Colby, Kan., on a volleyball scholarship, but she has since switched schools and sports while making plans to continue her education at a four-year school.

MEEKER I Lexie James Meszaros, a 2014 graduate of Meeker High School and already a junior at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, is now a member of the Division 1 cheerleading squad at the school, and the UL-Monroe squad took fourth place in the nation last year.

Gabrielle Goettel gets degree from Whitworth

MEEKER I Gabrielle Goettel of Meeker has been awarded a bachelor of arts degree in arts administration from Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. Whitworth University is a private liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The university, which has an enrollment of nearly 3,000 students, offers 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Meeker alum has two academy appointments

MEEKER I One graduated Meeker student has received a pair of nominations from U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton (R-Colo.-03) to attend either of two U.S. service academies next year. On Monday, Tipton announced the names of 11 students from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District who have received his nomination to the U.S. service academies.
