The Meeker Cowboy baseball team won its first postseason game in several years, a 9-2 victory against the Dolores Bears in Cortez on Friday, advancing them to the district championship game against the No. 1-ranked Paonia Eagles, which they lost. Meeker finished the season with an 8-12 record. MEEKER I The Meeker High School Cowboys high school baseball team finished the regular season with a 7-11 record, and they will now play in the district tournament.

The Meeker High School Cowboy baseball team is led by lone senior Nick Burri, who is pictured holding a Hotchkiss runner on first base. The Cowboys lost a doubleheader in Hotchkiss and, weather permitting, they will host Cedaredge at Paintbrush Park on Saturday.
