Meeker Cowboys win three more games

MEEKER I The Meeker High School boys’ basketball team played very well last week, winning games against Battle Mountain, DeBeque and Plateau Valley.

MEEKER I The Meeker High School boys’ basketball team finished the week with three big wins. The Cowboys began their streak Tuesday night against Rangely, beating the Panthers 65-52 behind a balanced scoring attack led by senior Jeremy Musgrave with 20 points.

MEEKER I The challenge of a high school basketball game is the ability to put together 32 minutes of good basketball. The Meeker boys’ basketball team is doing just that this season as they have proved time and time again they can play with good teams.

Cowboys finish second at WREA Cowboy Shootout

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys finished their big week of basketball Saturday evening, having played four games in five days and winning three of them. They finished second in the WREA Cowboy Shootout and had Jeremy Musgrave and Raul Lopez named to the All-Tournament team.

Meeker boys finish 2nd

The Cowboys lost 34-55, making it the last game for the seniors, including the Smith twins, Nate Walsh, Fernando Villalpando, Stefan Cochran and Tala Atoafa, who all got to play in the regional game.

MHS Cowboys head to Denver area for regional tourney

Musgrave and the Cowboys (16-6) will play Haxtun (16-5) in the must-win first round of the regional tournament at Mullen High School in Denver, with the winner playing the winner of Denver Christian (16-6) and Highland (7-15). Only the regional champ advances to the “Elite Eight” Colorado State Basketball Championships the following week in Pueblo.

MHS Cowboys advance to districts

Klark Kindler has been the head basketball coach for the Meeker boys’ basketball team for the past 15 years, was recognized last week before the final game of the regular season against Rangely for 199 career wins for the school and at the end of the game he had coached his 200th career win.

MEEKER I The Meeker High School boys’ basketball team has two big games coming up. Finding a way to win both would be crucial to their standings going into the district tournament in two weeks.

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys were on the road Friday night to play Soroco. The environment tends to be loud and can make for a tough start. However, the Meeker team was prepared and came out strong. They built a big lead by halftime and took the Ram’s crowd out of the game.

MEEKER I The Meeker High School boys’ basketball team overcame difficult circumstances after last Tuesday’s game in Rangely to win their first two league games over the weekend. Head coach Klark Kindler suffered a heart attack after the game in Rangely, but he is recovering and staying involved with the team.
