The 2011 high school golf season has started and both Rio Blanco County high schools have teams and both already have tournament experience.
Meeker junior Trey Morris qualified for the state golf tournament for the second year in a row. The state tournament will be Monday and Tuesday at Eaton Country Club. MEEKER I School hadn’t started but the 2010 golf season for Meeker High School had. Coach Klark Kindler and his team opened the season in Grand Valley last week and improved their scores in Grand Junction Aug. 17.
MEEKER I At least two players are needed to be sanctioned as a high school golf team, and at least three are needed to score as a team in tournaments.
