Rangely Museum opens this Friday

RANGELY I Rangely Museum opens its 2016 season Friday, May 6, and organizers are hosting an open house during the weekend that includes refreshments for those who stop by to see the recently installed Raven A1 Pump Jack.

Encana has given grant money to the Rangely Museum for the second time to spruce up its 1913 schoolhouse. While an earlier grant two years ago purchased new blinds for the schoolhouse, the newest $9,000 donation has been used to fix windows, remodel some siding and paint the structure.

Rangely Museum opens Friday

rangely I The Rangely Outdoor Museum will open Friday for weekends throughout May. The hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

Dear Editor: This is an open letter to residents of the Rangely and other parts of Rio Blanco County. We want to extend a huge “thank you” to all who have donated toward the 1913 school house foundation restoration project at Rangely Museum.

During Septemberfest in Rangely over the Labor Day weekend, the Rangely Museum held its annual ice cream social on Sunday as well as unveiled its new hand-painted, non-stencil sign, done by noted local artist Tabitha Hejl, pictured above.

RANGELY | Rangely Museum is having its final yard sale of the spring today and Friday.

Rangely-area recipes being gathered

RANGELY | The Rangely Museum is gathering recipes for a cookbook featuring old and new recipes of the Rangely area. In addition to regular recipes, there is a focus on homemade ice cream and dutch oven recipes for the Ice Cream Social section.
