RBC I A meeting called by Rio Blanco County commissioners was held in Rangely Tuesday at Colorado Northwestern Community College to bring all the taxing districts in the county together to discuss current and future projects and how they can take advantage of opportunities by working together.

RBC sees rise in percentage of college graduates

RBC I Rio Blanco County has experienced a brain gain in the last 40 years, joining the rest of the country in what has been a massive increase in the number of adults who have earned college degrees.

Helitack provides attack

The Teton Helitack crew from the Bridger Teton National Forest out of Jackson, Wyo., spent 14 days camped at the Meeker Airport and responded to 15 fires during their stay. The crew included helicopter crew members Nic Glatt and Kate Ball, helicopter mechanic fuel truck driver Randy ??, crew members Chris Edwards and Philip Brass, squad leader Matt Lancaster, crew supervisor David A. Gomez and helicopter pilot Steve Wilson, with Helicopter Express.

RBC I The Teton Helitack team from Jackson, Wyo., first came to Rio Blanco County July 22, to help with the Powell fire.

Williams hosts open house

RBC — Northwest Pipeline GP (Northwest), one of the Williams Companies, currently owns and operates an interstate natural gas pipeline which crosses portions of Rio Blanco County. The pipeline provides natural gas service to several states throughout the west including markets in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Help for your home heating bills

RBC I Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), which provides financial assistance with home heating bills, will begin accepting applications Tuesday, Nov. 1 and will continue to do so until April 30, 2012.
