RANGELY I After two non-conference games, the Rangely Panther football team traveled to Collbran last Saturday and won their first eight-man game by shutting out the Plateau Valley Cowboys 62-0.

RANGELY I The Rangely High School football team will start a new season, in a new league, playing a new game: eight-man football.
Panthers fall prey to Eagles
RANGELY I “It was not the game we wanted to end on but everybody played hard and they didn’t quit, they didn’t quit all year,” first-year Rangely High School head football coach Paul Fortunato said of the season finale, a 45-15 loss to the Paonia Eagles.
Panthers win homecoming
RANGELY I Wins for the Rangely Panther football team and first year head coach Paul Fortunato have been hard to come by this season but the Rangely players and coaches earned a victory over the Lake County Panthers in the 2011 homecoming game held last Saturday on Yeager Field.

RANGELY I “We banged it with them,” Paul Fortunato, the Panthers’ new football coach said proudly of his team’s first game last Friday, a 31-6 loss to the Altamont Longhorns in Utah.
Rangely honors players at football awards banquet
RANGELY I Even though the Panthers didn’t win a game, they had some outstanding individual performances. Rangely finished the football season with an 0-9 record, but senior running back/linebacker Cole Barlow’s efforts were noticed by opposing Western Slope League coaches, who named him to the all-conference first team.
