Panthers split homecoming games with West Grand

RANGELY I The Rangely High School volleyball team had a very successful homecoming weekend, beating a solid West Grand team in three games. The victory comes just in time to build momentum going into a very busy week.

Lady Panther volleyball team has tough weekend

RANGELY I The Rangely volleyball team had a tough weekend, but certainly saw glimmers of the team they are striving to be. The girls hope to change things around this week for their homecoming matchup against West Grand Saturday.

Lady Panthers win 2 matches in Glenwood Springs

RANGELY I Rangely volleyball coach Jimmie Mergelman “was pleased with the weekend,” as her team traveled to Glenwood Springs for a tournament. The team gave their coach plenty to be excited about, winning two of four matches and forcing a tough Denver Christian School to three games.

Rangely High School senior Quincey Thacker has signed with Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, to play volleyball this fall.

Hernandez signs on with Wesleyan

Leslie Hernandez signs on to play volleyball for Kansas Wesleyan University while her mother, Beverly, and KWU coach Fred Aubuchon look on. Hernandez is receiving an academic scholarship for $12,600 per year that will cover room and board, plus a $10,000 scholarship toward tuition.

RBC I Rio Blanco County seniors Kaysyn Chintala and Quincey Thacker have been chosen to participate in the Colorado Coaches of Girls’ Sports (CCGS) All-State Volleyball games, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, at Arvada West High School in Arvada, Colo.

RANGELY I Because of a league rule that protects the league champion by giving them an automatic bid into the regional tournament, the lady Panthers volleyball team ended its season last weekend at the district tournament in Kremmling.
