RANGELY I Panther senior Lucas Heinle and junior Ethan Allred qualified for the 2014 Colorado State Wrestling Championships, and, although both won at least one match, neither placed in their respective weights.

RANGELY I Panther senior Lucas Heinle will represent his school for a fourth time in the Colorado State Wrestling Championships, which start today at 3 p.m. at the Pepsi Center in downtown Denver.

Panthers change travel plans, place four in Norwood

RANGELY I Weather caused a change in plans for the Rangely Panthers’ wrestling team. The team was scheduled to wrestle in Crowley County, but a winter storm forced them to cancel the trip over the Continental Divide. Instead, they wrestled in a tournament in Norwood the week before the state-qualifying regional tournament.

RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers wrestled in the Steamboat Springs Round Robin tournament Saturday and returned with five placers, including one champion.

Panthers find success at home tournament

RANGELY I More than 150 wrestlers from 13 schools competed in the inaugural Vern Rose Memorial wrestling tournament in Rangely on Saturday, and all six varsity Panthers advanced to the championship round. “The tournament was a success,” Rangely head coach Jeff Heinle said.

RANGELY I The Rangely High School wrestling team opened the season at the Colorado Mesa University Duals in Grand Junction, and although the varsity team of five did not win any duals, they all had individual successes. “We wrestled OK for our first competition of the year,” Panthers head coach Jeff Heinle said.
