Panthers find success at home tournament

RANGELY I More than 150 wrestlers from 13 schools competed in the inaugural Vern Rose Memorial wrestling tournament in Rangely on Saturday, and all six varsity Panthers advanced to the championship round. “The tournament was a success,” Rangely head coach Jeff Heinle said.

Panthers compete at Vernal TOC

Panther senior Caleb Lawson won two matches in the Tournament of Champions and will represent his team in the 145-pound bracket Saturday in the first annual Vern Rose Memorial Tournament in Rangely, starting at 9 a.m.

Panthers wrestle in two states before Christmas break

The Rangely Panthers wrestling team competed in Utah and eastern Colorado before the Christmas break to wrestle unfamiliar opponents and hope to take its success into 2014. RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers wrestling team first traveled west to Altamont, Utah, for two dual meets before turning around and heading east across Colorado to wrestle Wray in a dual, before competing in the Bob Smith Invitational on Saturday.

Rangely Panthers open season at Colorado Mesa University

RANGELY I The Rangely High School wrestling team opened the season at the Colorado Mesa University Duals in Grand Junction, and although the varsity team of five did not win any duals, they all had individual successes. “We wrestled OK for our first competition of the year,” Panthers head coach Jeff Heinle said.
