Precipitation during 2013 tops annual average by 1.88 inches

Snow continues to pile up around the county as seen here Monday at the intersection of Sixth and Main streets in Meeker. Some areas received another nine inches of snow recently. Already the county is off to a quick start on the new precipitation year with more than 25 inches in some parts of the surrounding mountains.

MEEKER I Precipitation in Rio Blanco County surpassed its annual normal depth in early November and finished 2013 nearly two inches ahead of the average annual measurement for the area.

Harpers Corner Road still snowed in

DINOSAUR — Dinosaur National Monument staff hoped to open the Harpers Corner Road by mid-April but unusually deep snow has delayed the opening.
