MEEKER I The middle school volleyball teams from Meeker and Rangely played in Rangely Saturday for exciting matches.
RANGELY I The Middle School Volleyball Tournament held in Craig last Saturday finished off the season for the four area schools. This year, Rangely proved to have the best combination of teams, winning the eighth grade A and B tournaments and placing second in the seventh grade A. Meeker won the seventh grade B tournament.
The Lady Cowboy volleyball team will open the varsity season in Glenwood Springs this weekend. “We play up in Glenwood, there are mostly 3-4 and 5A schools,” coach Christy Atwood said of the upcoming competition for her 2A varsity team. “We’ll use it as a measuring stick to see where we are competing.”
RBC I Both volleyball teams in the county were represented on the all-league team. RBC | Both Barone Middle School football teams won big last week, with the A team winning 50-6 and the B team 46-0. Meanwhile, the Rangely seventh- and eighth-graders combined for a 27-6 win over Vernal, Utah.
MEEKER I The Lady Cowboys had mixed results last week. On Friday, Meeker’s volleyball team traveled to Plateau Valley, winning in three games (25-9, 25-8, 25-16).
RANGELY I The Lady Panthers have been a bit defensive lately. And that’s a good thing. Thanks in big part to its improving defense, Rangely won matches last week against Vail Mountain and Plateau Valley.
RANGELY | The Rangely eighth-grade volleyball team beat Craig’s A team on Saturday in three games, while the B team won in two games. On Tuesday, the eighth-grade A team beat Hayden in three games.
