MEEKER I The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on a proposal to gather excess wild horses in northwest Colorado within the White River Field Office to sustain healthy public lands and wild horse populations.
WYOMING I Last week, U.S. District Court of Wyoming Chief Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal issued an order stating that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) when it conducted a massive “Checkerboard Roundup” last fall, during which 1,263 wild horses were permanently removed from the range in southwestern Wyoming.
RBC I For many years, the issue of wild horse population management has been an emotional topic in Northwest Colorado. Many highly invested parties have strong feelings regarding proper herd size, management and possible round up of local wild horses, and their varied opinions often put them at odds with each other.

MEEKER I The Bureau of Land Management is now seeking public comments concerning proposed gathers of excess wild horses in areas managed by the BLM White River Field Office.
