Ten meaty podcasts for hunters and hunting enthusiasts

Northwest Colorado Hunting Guide
RBC | You really can find whatever you want on the internet. The global information age has allowed hunters to learn the latest conditions, animal population numbers and hunting season outlooks just by typing in a few words.
In the world of podcasts — digital audio recordings on whatever subject comes to mind — hunters can hear tips on everything from planning trips to what the latest regulations are in their destination state to the economics and weather outlook of the area. Here are some randomly chosen examples:
– “HuntFishTravel with CarrieZ,” an award-winning hunting, fishing, archery and bowhunting podcast hosted by Carrie Zylka since 2012.
– “The MeatEater” podcast with Steven Rinella, an avid outdoorsman, writer and television personality. He is a columnist for Petersen’s HUNTING, has appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered, CNN’s American Morning and Fox and Friends.
– “Hunt Talk Radio, Randy Newberg Unfiltered” is a podcast covering hunting politics, public lands and conservation topics, maybe a few things you didn’t need to know. Other hunters join in to answer questions from the Hunt Talk web forum, share ideas, reveal tactics and give perspectives unique to public land hunting.
– “The Hunt Backcountry” podcast features backcountry hunters talking about topics related to backcountry big game hunting, such as tactics, lessons learned, swapping stories, interviewing others from the hunting industry and even the nitty-gritty of gear lists and bow/rifle setups.
– “Wired To Hunt” was the top-rated deer hunting podcast on iTunes, covering all things whitetail. Episodes share new strategies, expert interviews and stories throughout the hunting season. Mark Kenyon, the founder and managing editor of Wired To Hunt, is the host.
– “Talking Mule Deer” is the official podcast of the Mule Deer Foundation and covers mule deer and black-tailed deer biology, hunting and conservation issues. Guests have included Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO Johnny Morris, and his son, John Paul.
– “Deer Hunt—Big Buck Registry” is co-hosted by Jay Scott and Dusty Phillips, with Deer News by Jim Keller. Each episode focuses on sharing deer hunting news, stories and strategies.
– The “Epic Outdoors” podcast helps big game hunters navigate Western big game hunting. Hosts Jason Carter and Adam Bronson discuss elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, moose, antelope and mountain goat hunting.
– The “100% Wild Podcast” is an audio and video podcast, produced by Wired To Hunt and DOD TV. Top hunting experts from across the country answer hunting-related questions, including those submitted in advance by listeners. Hosts are Mark Kenyon of Wired To Hunt and Matt Drury of Drury Outdoors.
– “The Western Bowhunter” focuses on — naturally — people and stories of western bowhunting. Hosted by South Cox of Stalker Stickbows and Kody Kellom of Born And Raised Outdoors, topics include preparing for the backcountry, calling elk, spot and stalk hunting.
Some podcasts require listeners to subscribe by submitting their email address, while others are featured on special podcast player sites. But wherever hunters find them, there is sure to be a treasure trove of information to listen to, learn and use to help make their next hunting trip another success.
