Dear Editor:
We would like to thank and commend all 3,508 Rio Blanco County voters who cast their ballots in the Nov. 8 election. This was an 87.9 percent return from the 3,992 active voters in the county. By the time you read this, our election will be certified with the official results which will be posted on the county website. There is one thing at the state level that may or may not require a recount. It is Amendment T, an amendment to the Constitution concerning the removal of the exception to the prohibition of slavery and involuntary servitude when used as punishment for persons duly convicted of a crime. The Secretary of State must receive certification from all counties before they can determine the final numbers.
