RBC I Tens of thousands of wreaths aboard 20 tractor-trailers in Maine are destined for Arlington National Cemetery and other sites.
The caravan left Worcester Wreath Co. in Harrington Dec. 5 with five of the trucks bound for Arlington, Va., carrying 24,000 wreaths. For the 19th year in a row, the wreaths were laid on service members’ gravestones Dec. 11 to pay tribute to the nation’s veterans.
But it’s much bigger than that. At the same time, similar ceremonies took place in all 50 states and 34 overseas locations with 215,000 additional wreaths.
Worcester Wreath donated 20,000 of those wreaths.
The remaining 195,000 are paid for with donations from corporate sponsors, veterans groups, the USO and individuals.
