RANGELY I Twenty-five Rangely wrestlers competed in Casey Turner Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in Meeker.
We had 15 wrestlers place and 10 wrestling well, but coming up short. Placing first were Tyce Lucero, Tytus Coombs and Devin Ramirez. Placing second were Karver Lopez, Byron Mackey and Brody McElhaney. Placing third were Corbin Lucero, Calvin Bishop, Justin Rusher, Cameron Filfred and Ketson Rouse. Placing fourth were Bryce Spann, Dontea Pearce, Triston Rohn and Anthony Martin.
We had some tough matches at this tournament. Those wrestling well but failing to place were Sam Tucker, Kasen LeBleu, Wyatt Wiley, Brando Willis, Dylan LeBleu, Gabe Polley, Dalton Dembowski, CJ Lucero, Troy Allred and Caleb Lawson. CJ Lucero and Caleb Lawson just missed placing, losing two matches each in overtime.
I am very proud of the way that all of these young wrestlers wrestled at Meeker on Saturday. This was the first tournament for some of these wrestlers.
