MEEKER I Children age 4 through 16 will have the opportunity to learn soccer from professional British coaches who tour the country sharing their passion for the sport.
U.K. International Soccer, sponsored by ERBM Recreation and Park District, will conduct a five-day camp from 9 a.m. to noon through Friday at Paintbrush Park in Meeker. Fee is $85.
This community camp, directed toward the recreational player, will split into age appropriate levels: “Fun in the Sun” for ages 4-6 will include games to teach fundamentals and build confidence; “Skills and Thrills” for ages 7-10 will focus on technical development and skills building in a stimulating environment; “Compete With Your Feet” will challenge players 11-16 years in game-related situations building technical and tactical knowledge.
“Host a Coach” opportunities are available to community families. Host families can get to know British men and women from ages 20-30 while learning about soccer and British cultural and language differences. Lasting friendships are often built by hosting a coach during camp week.
Young soccer players who take advantage of these opportunities will enjoy an enriched experience when participating in upcoming recreation district soccer programs.
