Training offered for byways program

RBC I Colorado’s Scenic and Historic Byways program is sponsoring training sessions for cultural heritage tourism and grass roots hospitality next month.
Training focuses on 11 key survival strategies for tough economic times for cultural heritage tourism and grass roots hospitality training.  A new supplement has been added to the grass roots training program so each byway representative needs to bring the original grass roots training kit it received.
The course is being held at three locations:
n March 1 in Delta (Bill Heddles Recreation Center: byway sponsor Grand Mesa)
n March 5 in Nederland (Goldminer Hotel: byway sponsor Peak to Peak
n March 7 in Canon City (Royal Gorge Lodge: byway sponsor Gold Belt Tour)
This six-hour course (lunch included) will provide byway participants with the knowledge and skills to establish training programs in the areas of heritage and hospitality.  The training is complimentary but each class is limited to 25 people so please register as soon as possible.
“Our goal is to generate as much support for tourism as possible,” says CDOT scenic and historic byways program manager Lenore Bates. “The two byway trainings provide technical assistance that includes customer service and other strategies for making byway businesses more competitive, which makes it valuable for restaurants, hotels, gas stations, other tourist and recreation organizations, as well as front line staff at city, county, state and federal agencies.”
