RBC I Natural gas operators, area contractors and county agencies will partner with numerous Rio Blanco youth organizations to conduct the fourth annual trash removal project along County Road 5 on Saturday.
With trash bags donated by the Colorado Department of Transporta-tion, logistical oversight from the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office and the county road and bridge department’s safety coordination, local youth organizations will clean up the entire 42-mile stretch of County Road 5. A barbecue, hosted by Halliburton, will be held following the cleanup.
Each of the oil and natural gas industry companies contributed up to $2,000. As a result, each youth volunteer group will be receive $500 for its organization. The youth groups participating from Meeker are: Holy Family Catholic Youth, PEO, MHS wrestling, Faith Baptist Church youth, MHS volleyball, Ute kids’ camp, and White River Livestock Judging Team. Groups participating from Rangely are: High school baseball, Rio Blanco Legion baseball, FBLA, Rangely Animal Shelter and RHS basketball.
