RBC I Personal use Christmas tree tags will be available from all offices of the White River National Forest starting Monday, Nov.19.
Christmas tree cutting is allowed in most areas on the White River National Forest with the following exceptions: wilderness areas, commercial timber sales, recreation and ski areas, administrative areas, and Glenwood Canyon. Trees may not be cut within 100 feet of any road. Maps showing where Christmas tree cutting is allowed are available at all offices where permits are sold. District specific tree cutting information is below.
Permits cost $10 each and may be purchased with cash, check, or money order. Trees must be less than 15 feet tall from the stump with a maximum of five trees per individual. Trees are for personal use only and cannot be resold. The tags must be attached to the tree prior to cutting and must be left on the tree until it arrives at its final destination. Permits expire Dec. 31, 2012.
BLANCO RANGER DISTRICT
The Blanco Ranger Station is located at 220 East Market St.,in Meeker. Permits will be available at this location Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 970-878-4039 for additional information.
All Forest Service offices will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
