MEEKER | On Saturday, Sept. 14, ERBM Recreation and Park District held the Tri the Trails Triathlon. This new concept had 11 participants get off the pavement and enjoy a beautiful country road bike course and run on the world class trails in Phillip and Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park. The Sprint Tri featured a 750-yard swim, 12 mile bike ride, and a three mile run, while the Super Sprint featured a 300-yard swim, six mile bike ride, and a 1.8 mile run. Christina Stacey of Meeker and Kendall Smith of Craig, were top female and male winners of the Sprint Tri. Nicole Dupire of Meeker was top female for the Super Sprint Tri. ERBM would like to thank the Town of Meeker, Belland Builders and Regas Halandras for their assistance in helping create additional trail for the course.
