MEEKER I Meeker Cub Scout Troop 190 raced the night away March 21, holding its own Pinewood Derby car races.
The Wolves started the competition. Austin Lopez was in lane one, Eddie Drussel in lane two, Rowdy Rosendahl in lane three and Keaton Brickey in lane four. Rosendahl won that heat.
Next were the Bears with Chris Harris in lane one, Jeremy Woodward in lane two and Colton Gardner in lane three. Harris won the heat with his pick-up truck.
Next came the Webelos. In lane one was Colby Clatterbaugh, in lane two was Ridge Williams, in lane three was Zach Harman and in lane four was Kesston Hobbs. The winner for that first heat was Williams. The second heat of Webelos consisted of Todd Patterson in lane one, Damien Kent in lane two and Chris O’Neal in lane three. The winner of the second heat was O’Neal. The two winners raced for the championship with Williams in lane one and O’Neal in lane two. The winner for the Webelos was Ridge Williams with his Raven car.
Next, the three winners faced off against each other. In lane one was Rosendahl, in lane two was Harris and Williams was in lane three. Williams captured the runoff with Rosendahl and Harris close behind.
After the formal races, the scouts opened the racetrack to family members and friends to build a car and then race. There were more than 15 contestants, and the winners of the open class races were Haily Knowles, Addie Knowles, Dillon Hobbs and Brynlee Williams.
The troop leaders thanked the parents for their help and told the boys to “keep up the good work.”
