RANGELY | Two finalists for the RE-4 superintendent position, vacated when current superintendent Todd Cordrey resigned last month, completed presentations and an interview process last week.
Matt Scoggins, owner of Rangely’s Colorado CPA Services and a former Rangely Board of Education member and president, and Paul Jebe, current principal of La Junta High School in La Junta, Colo., presented their experience, educational philosophies and visions for the district to the board and public attendees on June 17.
The following day, the candidates interviewed with the district Board of Education and two committees comprised of staff, faculty, administrators and parents. The committees then conveyed what they felt to be the candidates’ strengths and challenges to the board.
Tuesday night, the board held a regular meeting and discussed the candidates in executive session. It will vote on and announce its choice for Rangely’s next superintendent on Friday morning.
