MEEKER I “The team that’s helping the Rec District design the new park and trail in Sanderson Hills has a member of the team who is also a member of Volunteers of America,” said Town Administrator Sharon Day. The team member was intrigued by Ute Park and is coordinating with Volunteers of America to bring a team to Meeker in August for a three-day work session at Ute Park.
The Town of Meeker Board of Trustees approved a request from James Lawson, dba Chippers, for a new tavern liquor license at 285 Sixth Street.
“Our goal is to change the way the community viewed this location in the past, and to open the door to the community,” Lawson’s partner said.
The board also approved a special event permit for the Meeker Lions Club to serve liquor at the annual Elk Foundation banquet on April 7, 2012.
At the request of Mayor Mandi Etheridge, the meeting went into an executive session to discuss personnel matters regarding the hiring process for the new town administrator.
