RANGELY — Last week, 10 players from the Rangely Panther volleyball team traveled to Fowler, Colo., to compete in the Southern Colorado Summer Classic 2008 Volleyball Tournament.
The Panthers went 13-7 in pool play the first two days which placed them fifth seed in the varsity gold tournament.
During the tournament they went on to place fourth out of 14 teams, with Fowler, Hoehne and McClave taking the top honors.
With the resignation of head coach Dave Walck, the girls competed without the benefit of a coach. They were complimented by many of the coaches and the community of Fowler for their dedication, competitiveness and team spirit.
The determination of these girls and the foundation of a great program by Coach Walck speaks volumes for their success.
