Weekly Call Review: April 13, 2017

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
March 27- April 2
The dispatch center received 382 incoming phone calls and placed 93 outgoing calls, received 16 911 calls, 47 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD), which all resulted in 115 calls for service, 76 for the Sheriff’s Office, 42 for MPD, and four calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 33 traffic stops issuing three citations and thirty warnings, while the MPD had five stops issuing two citations and three warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s deputies included 13 agency assists, two animal calls, four civil papers served, four citizen assists, nine motorist assists, one restraining order violation, three suspicious incidents and two VIN inspections.
MPD calls included five agency assists, five animal calls, two business checks, four citizen assists, two disturbances, one fraud case, two motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, two thefts, two accidents, one unattended death and three VIN inspections.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to three medical transports.
There were three arrests and six releases, the Detention Center currently has six inmates.
There were five assists to Colorado State Patrol. Two involving car vs. deer, one with a raccoon and two traffic stop assists.
There were no DUI arrests.
April 3 – 9, 2017
For the last week the dispatch center received 450 incoming phone calls and placed 144 outgoing calls, received 18 911 calls, 46 calls for MPD, which all resulted in 113 calls for service, 68 for the Sheriff’s Office, 50 for MPD and eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. A total of three accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 10 traffic stops issuing three citations and seven warnings, while the MPD had four stops issuing two citations and two warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Deputies included 11 agency assists, five 911 hangup/misdials, eight animal calls, two abandoned vehicles, two civil papers served, one domestic violence, five motorist assists, three traffic accidents, one trespass two vin inspections and one warrant arrest.
Meeker Police Department calls included three 911 hangup/misdial, two alarms, six animal calls, three business checks, five citizen assists, one criminal mischief, three domestic violence, one harassment, two suspicious incidents, one trespass and seven VIN inspections.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to two reports of fires, one gas leak, three ambulance calls and one traffic accident.
There were four arrests and six releases, the Detention Center currently has 11 inmates.
There were no assists to Colorado State Patrol.
There were no DUI arrests.
