The dispatch center processed 621 phone calls this last week, receiving 22 911 calls, answered 80 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 127 outgoing phone calls. A total of 149 calls for service were created, 72 for the Sheriff’s Office, 73 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were three vehicle crashes two involving deer.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 27 traffic stops issuing three citations and MPD had 17 stops and issued one summons. Highway 13 south had eight traffic stops issued three citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 10 agency assists, two 911 misdials, three animal calls, four civil papers served, three citizen assists, two disturbances, three BLM wildland fires, two suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, criminal mischief, DUI, harassment, motorist assist, restraining order violation, traffic hazard.
MPD calls included two agency assists, six 911 misdials, three alarms, eight animal calls, two attempt to serve, five business checks, two criminal mischief, three disturbances, two motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints and one each: citizen assist, civil, gas skip, illegal dumping, M-1 transport, parking violation, theft, traffic hazard and VIN.
There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transfers, one BLM assist fire, one alarm and four ambulance requests.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in nine and released eight, all arrested by the Sheriff’s Office. There are currently nine inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrest.
