The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 458 phone calls this last week, receiving 26 911 calls, answered 51 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 154 outgoing phone calls. A total of 154 calls for service were created, 66 for the Sheriff’s Office, 65 for MPD and three assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office (RBCSO) conducted 13 traffic stops, issuing five citations and and MPD had eight stops issuing one citation. Highway 13 had four traffic stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included nine agency assists, two 911 hang ups, four animal calls, four civil papers served, 14 motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, three traffic hazards, two warrant arrests and one each: business check, theft, traffic accident, unattended death and VIN inspection.
MPD calls included two agency assists, two 911 hang ups, six animal calls, 23 business checks, six citizen assists, two thefts, five VIN inspections and one each:alarm, motorist assist, parking violation, traffic accident and warrant arrest.
There were seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one medical transport, one ambulance requests and one each, 911 hangup, assist CSP, motorist assist and vehicle crash.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in seven, RBSO four, Colorado State Patrol one, RPD one, MPD one and six released. Transported four to or from another facility.and there are currently 15 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests, five vehicle crashes reported in the county, two involving deer, elk or cow and two with injuries.
