The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 397 phone calls, receiving 13 911 calls, answered 62 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 84 outgoing phone calls. A total of 172 calls for service were created, 113 for the Sheriff’s Office, 62 for MPD and four calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were eight auto crashes reported throughout the county, one involving a deer or elk.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 71 traffic stops issuing 13 summons, while MPD had seven stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Deputies included nine agency assists, two animal calls, three civil papers served, four motorist assists, two traffic accidents, three traffic complaints and three VIN inspections. One each: alarm, business check, domestic violence, fraud, juvenile problem, property, RO violation, traffic hazard.
MPD calls included four agency assists, three 911 misdials, four animal calls, 15 business checks, two citizen assists, four civil, two juvenile problems, three property calls, four suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, two traffic hazards, three VIN inspections and two warrant arrests. One each: alarm, domestic violence, parking violation, restraining order violation and traffic complaint.
There were four calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue two medical transports and two ambulance requests.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in eight and released 11, one by the Sheriff’s Office, five by MPD, two by Rangely Police Department and are currently housing eight inmates. There were two inmates transported to or from another facility.
There were no DUI arrests.
