The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Feb. 12-18, 2018
The dispatch center processed 461 phone calls, receiving 28 911 calls, answered 59 calls for Meeker Police Department placed 96 outgoing phone calls. A total of 125 calls for service were created, 72 for the Sheriff’s Office, 49 for MPD, and six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were seven auto crashes reported throughout the county, two with injuries and three involving elk or deer.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 22 traffic stops issuing two summons, while MPD had seven stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 11 agency assists, three animal calls, two civil papers served,two business checks, two domestic violence, four motorist assists, three traffic accidents, two traffic complaints, four traffic hazards and one each: alarm, citizen assist, disturbance, DUI, fraud illegal dumping juv problem, MIP, missing person, sex assault, suspicious incident, trespass and warrant arrest.
Meeker Police Department calls included three agency assists, two 911 misdials, four animal calls, six business checks, two citizen assists, two civil issues, two domestic violence, two missing persons, two suspicious incidents, four VIN inspections and one each: alarm, disturbance, fraud, juvenile problem, MIP, RO violation, traffic accident and warrant arrest.
There were 13 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, two vehicle crashes, two alarms, three ambulance request, five medical transports, one domestic violence call and two alarms.
There were five assists for Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in six and released five, one by the Sheriff’s Office, three by MPD, one by Rangely PD, one from CSP and are currently housing 10 inmates. There was one inmate transport to or from another facility.
There was one DUI arrest.
