The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Feb. 5-11, 2018
The dispatch center processed 373 phone calls, receiving 24 911 calls, answered 59 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 76 outgoing phone calls. A total of 137 calls for service were created, 59 for the Sheriff’s Office, 73 for MPD, and six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were two auto crashes reported throughout the county none involving elk or deer.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 21 traffic stops issuing one summons, while MPD had 23 stops issuing three citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 11 civil papers served, seven agency assists, two attended deaths, two business checks, two motorist assists, two traffic hazards and one each: animal call, assault, DUI, traffic complaint and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included four agency assists, three 911 misdials, four animal calls, 17 business checks, three citizen assists, two illegal dumping, three suspicious incidents, two VIN inspections and one each: assault, civil, gas skip, harassment, juvenile problem, MIP, motorist assist, narcotics, traffic accident and warrant arrest.
There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, one ambulance request, two medical transports, one car crash and two fires.
There were three assists for Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in four and released five, three by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD and are currently housing seven inmates. There was one inmate transport to or from another facility.
There was one DUI arrest.
