The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 595 phone calls last week including 46 911 calls, 62 calls for Meeker PD and placed 176 outgoing calls. A total of 162 calls for service were created, 74 for the Sheriff’s Office, 71 for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and 12 assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s office conducted three traffic stops all with warnings. MPD had 12 stops and issued two citations. One stop on Highway 13 with a warning.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 22 agency assists, two 911 hang ups, four animal calls, six civil papers served, one attended death, three citizen assists, two domestic violence, two harassment, two motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, four traffic complaints, five VIN inspections and one each: ATV crash, criminal mischief, structure fire, BLM fire, M-1 transport, traffic crash, traffic hazard, trespass and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included four agency assists, four 911 hangups, 12 animal calls, 13 business checks, four disturbances, two domestic violence, two property, five suspicious incidents, five VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, citizen assist, criminal mischief, harassment, juvenile problem, motorist assist, traffic accident and traffic complaint.
There were 13 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including three medical transports to another facility, two ambulance requests, one vehicle crash, one ATV crash, assisted on one BLM fire and one structure fire.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in six, four by the Sheriff’s Office and two from RPD. Seven inmates were released. Deputies conducted three transports to or from another facility and currently there are nine inmates in the facility.
Three vehicle crashes were reported in the county, one car/deer and two with injuries, in addition to a ATV crash in which the driver was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by helicopter.
RBSO made two DUI arrests.
