The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 734 phone calls last week including 28 911 calls, 67 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 256 outgoing calls. A total of 162 calls for service were created, 74 for the Sheriff’s Office, 71 for MPD and 12 assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 32 traffic stops issues two citations and had one traffic arrest. MPD had 24 stops, issued three citations and one traffic arrest. There were 13 stops on Highway 13 with one citation and one arrest..
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 20 agency assists, four 911 hang ups, three animal calls, four civil papers served, three business checks, five citizen assists, four BLM wildland fires, five motorist assists, seven traffic complaints, three VIN inspections, three warrant arrests and one each: ATV accident, backcountry rescue, disturbance, domestic violence, DUI, harassment, K-9 deployment, M-1 transport, missing person, property, suspicious incident, traffic accident, traffic arrest, traffic hazard.
MPD calls included nine agency assists, three 911 hangups, 12 animal calls, 20 business checks, seven criminal mischief, two disturbances, two motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, seven traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: criminal mischief, traffic arrest, trespass and warrant arrest.
There were 14 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including three alarms, two ambulance requests, three BLM fires, two smoke reports in town and one each: ATV accident, backcountry rescue, and assist public works and responded to a mutual aid request from Garfield County to Meadow Lake for a traffic crash.
There were eight assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in 10, four by the Sheriff’s Office, two from RPD, one from MPD and three from Colorado State Patrol. Four jail incidents. Eleven inmates were released. Deputies conducted two transports to or from another facility and currently there are seven inmates in the facility.
Six vehicle crashes were reported in the county, three involving car/deer.
RBSO made one DUI arrest.
