The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Phone reporting software on the blink. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 16 traffic stops, issued three citations. Meeker Police Department had 16 stops and issued three citations. Six stops on Highway 13, issuing two citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 27 agency assists, five 911 hang ups, eight animal calls, two civil papers served, four citizen assists, three civil issues, two forest service patrols, two K-9 deployments, for motorist assists, nine suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, three traffic hazards, five VIN inspections and five warrant arrests. One each: attended death, SXO address verifications, theft.
Meeker Police Department calls included five agency assists, five 911 hangups, 13 animal calls, eight business checks, three citizen assists, two civil, 21 code enforcement tags, two juvenile problems, two motorist assists, three VIN inspections and one each: alarm, assault, disturbance, fraud, funeral escort, parking violation, property, theft, traffic accident, traffic complaint.
There were three requests for an ambulance for Meeker Fire and Rescue.
There were five assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in four, three by the Sheriff’s Office and one by Rangely PD. Ten inmates were released. Deputies conducted two transports to or from another facility and currently there are four inmates in the facility.
Five traffic crashes were reported in the county, two involving car/deer/elk. No DUI arrests.
