The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 420 phone calls this last week, receiving 26 911 calls, answered 42 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 150 outgoing phone calls. A total of 157 calls for service were created, 62 for the Sheriff’s Office, 68 for MPD and two assists with Rangely Police Department. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 14 traffic stops, issuing four citations and MPD had 12 stops issuing three citations. Highway 13 had six traffic stops and issued two citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 12 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, 10 animal calls, four civil papers served, seven motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, three traffic hazards, three VIN inspection and one each: business check, harassment, hazmat incident, suicide.
Meeker Police Department calls included seven agency assists, two 911 hang ups, nine animal calls, 15 business checks, three citizen assists, two code enforcement, two motorist assists, two traffic complaints, six VIN inspections and one each: civil, juvenile problem, suicide.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one alarm, one suicide, two reports of smoke coming from a building, four ambulance requests.
There were eight assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in four, two by the Sheriff’s Office, one by CSP and one from Rangely PD and released none.There were no transports to or from another facility and there are currently 18 inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrest by CSP, five vehicle crashes reported in the county, one involving a deer.
