The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 432 phone calls this last week, receiving 39 911 calls, answered 61 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 126 outgoing phone calls. A total of 161 calls for service were created, 67 for the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office (RBCSO), 72 for MPD and five assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The RBCSO conducted 14 traffic stops, issuing two citations and MPD had 17 stops issuing three citations. Highway 13 had six traffic stops and issued one citation.
Other calls for the RBCSO included 15 agency assists, one 911 hang up, four animal calls, four civil papers served, three citizen assists, eight motorist assists, four traffic hazards, two warrant arrests and one each: business check, civil, disturbance, suspicious incident, theft, traffic accident, traffic complaint and unattended death.
MPD calls included five agency assists, one 911 hang up, two alarms, four animal calls, 19 business checks, two citizen assists, five civil calls, two motorist assists and one each: disturbance, juvenile problem, unattended death and VIN inspection.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transports, two vehicle crashes, three ambulance requests and one smoke alarm report.
There were seven assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in four by the RBCSO and released three. Transported two to or from another facility.and there are currently 14 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests, five vehicle crashes reported in the county.
