Weekly Call Review: March 23, 2017

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
March 6-12, 2017
For the last week the dispatch center received 501 incoming phone calls and placed 145 outgoing calls, received 58 911 calls, 39 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD), which all resulted in 94 calls for service, 56 for the Sheriff’s office, 39 for MPD, and two calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s office conducted 18 traffic stops issuing three citations and 15 warnings, while the MPD had seven stops issuing six warnings and one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Deputies included four agency assists, one DUI, nine civil papers served, two harassments, three suspicious incidents one theft, one trespass, one warrant arrest and one unattended death.
Meeker Police Department calls included six agency assists, one DUI, four motorist assists, two VIN inspections, two animal calls and four suspicious incidents.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to two calls, one medical transport and a report of a loud explosion on Highway 64 where nothing was found.
There were four arrests, seven releases and one transport, the Detention Center currently has eight inmates.
There was one assist to Colorado State Patrol.
There were two DUI arrests.
March 13-19

For the last week the dispatch center received 514 incoming phone calls and placed 157 outgoing calls, received 17 911 calls, 58 calls for MPD, which all resulted in 151 calls for service, 97 for the Sheriff’s office, 52 for MPD, and 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s office conducted 56 traffic stops issuing six citations and 50 warnings, while the MPD had two stops with two warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s deputies included 13 agency assists, two residential/business alarms, two civil papers served, four fires, four traffic accidents, two suspicious incidents, one theft report, two VIN inspections, one traffic arrest and one warrant arrest.
MPD calls included eight agency assists, seven animal calls, six business checks, five citizen assists, one child abuse, three motorist assists, one restraining order violation, five suspicious incidents, one trespass and two VIN inspections.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to 10 calls, three medical transports and six fires reported.
There were six arrests and five releases, the Detention Center currently has 14 inmates.
There were three assists to Colorado State Patrol.
There were no DUI arrests.
