Weekly Call Review: March 5-11, 2018

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

March 5-11, 2018

The dispatch center processed 324 phone calls this last week, receiving  eight 911calls, answered 45 calls for Meeker Police Department and placed 49 outgoing phone calls. A total of 152 calls for service were created, 74 for the Sheriff’s Office, 74 for MPD, and four calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There was one auto crash with minor injuries reported throughout the county.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 38 traffic stops issuing four summons and one arrest while MPD had 30 stops issuing three citations.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included five agency assists, two 911 hangups, two animal calls, three civil papers served, two business checks, four motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and two warrant arrests.  One call each: citizen assist, DUI, harassment, property, traffic hazard.

Meeker Police Department calls included two agency assists, five 911 misdials, seven animal calls, 16 business checks, two motorist assists and four vin inspections.  One call each: citizen assist, civil, harassment, juvenile problem, property, suspicious incident.

There were five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue one medical transport and four ambulance requests.

There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in seven and released five, one by Colorado State Patrol,  five by the Sheriff’s Office, one by Rangely PD and are currently housing nine inmates.  There was one inmate transported to or from another facility.

There was one DUI arrest.

March 12-18, 2018

The dispatch center processed 437 phone calls this last week, receiving  36 911 calls, answered 57 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 96 outgoing phone calls. A total of 183 calls for service were created, 122 for the Sheriff’s Office, 62 for MPD and six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five auto crashes that were reported throughout the county, three involving deer/elk and one fatal crash.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 69 traffic stops issuing 11 citations and MPD had 16 stops issuing one citation.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 11 agency assists, four animal calls, four civil papers served, two business checks, 10 motorist assists, two suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, four VIN inspections and three warrant arrests.

Meeker Police Department calls included four agency assists, three 911 misdials, 13 business checks, two motorist assists, five suspicious incidents and four VIN inspections. One call each for: alarm, animal call, assault, citizen assist, civil, gas skip, harassment, juvenile problem, M-1 transport, property, theft, traffic complaint, trespass and warrant arrest.

There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue: two medical transports and two ambulance requests and one injury/death vehicle crash.

There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in nine and released seven, one by Colorado State Patrol,  six by the Sheriff’s Office, one each by Meeker and Rangely PD. The jail is currently housing 11 inmates.  There were three inmates transported to or from another facility.

There were no DUI arrests.
