The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 518 phone calls this last week, receiving 21 911 calls, answered 67 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 133 outgoing phone calls. A total of 198 calls for service were created, 114 for the Sheriff’s Office, 84 for MPD and six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were two automobile crashes, one involving a deer.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 13 traffic stops issuing four citations and MPD had 21 stops issuing two citations. Highway 13 south had 22 traffic stops issuing five citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 17 agency assists, one 911 misdial, two alarms, 13 animal calls, two attended deaths, two citizen assists, two disturbances, two domestic violence, two motorist assists, seven suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, two traffic hazards and one each: civil papers served, restraining order violation, sex assault, traffic accident, VIN inspection and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included nine agency assists, nine animal calls, one attended death, six business checks, five citizen assists, two civil, two disturbances, two harassment, four motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: domestic violence, juvenile problem, property, restraining order violation, theft and traffic accident.
There were 18 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue seven ambulance requests, two alarms, four medical transports, two assists with law enforcement and three fires.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in nine and released six. The Sheriff’s Office arrested six individuals, Colorado State Patrol with one and Rangely PD two. The jail is currently housing 14 inmates. There were two inmate transports to or from another facility.
There were no DUI arrests.
