The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 442 phone calls last week including 11 911 calls, 41 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 114 outgoing calls. A total of 184 calls for service were created, 88 for the Sheriff’s Office, 53 for MPD and seven assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 22 traffic stops, issued two citations and MPD had 13 stops issuing 112 warnings. Highway 13 had six traffic stops and issued four citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 14 agency assists, two 911 hang ups, 14 animal calls, nine attempts to serve civil papers, two juvenile assists, two motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, five VIN inspections, two wildland fires and one each: alarm, citizen assist, K-9 deployment, traffic arrest, warrant arrest.
Meeker Police Department calls included two agency assists, one 911 hangup, six animal calls, five business checks, three citizen assists, five juvenile issues, three suspicious incidents, two thefts, two traffic crashes, seven VIN inspections and one each, civil, M-1 transport, traffic arrest.
There were three calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one ambulance request and two medical alarms.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in three, two by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD. Three inmates were released and had one jail incident. Deputies conducted three transports to or from another facility and currently there are 15 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests and four traffic crashes were reported in the county, one involving an ATV and one other injury accident.
