Weekly Call Review: Nov. 28-Dec. 11

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Nov. 28-Dec. 5
This last week the dispatch center received a total of 465 incoming and placed 116 outgoing phone calls, received 24 911 calls and 60 calls for Meeker PD. These calls resulted in 116 calls for service, 72 for the Sheriff’s Office, 40 for Meeker PD, eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue and nine for the Colorado State Patrol. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 18 traffic stops issuing two citations and 16 warnings, while the Meeker PD had seven stops all issued warnings. Agency assists totaled 21, 16 for the Sheriff’s Office and five for MPD.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s deputies included eight assists with Colorado State Patrol; seven attempts to serve papers, three each for jail transport, motorist assists and business checks; two thefts and three traffic accidents and six warrant arrests.
A male driver was arrested on a 20-year-old warrant issued in Rio Blanco County after he reported his involvement in a traffic accident.
Meeker Police Department calls included two animal calls, five motorist assists, seven suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, three VIN inspections and one warrant arrest.
There were eight arrests and the Detentions Center currently has 11 inmates.
Assists to the Colorado State Patrol were nine with three injury accidents.
No DUI arrests were made.
Dec. 6-11
This last week the dispatch center received a total of 454 incoming and placed 113 outgoing phone calls, received 30 911 calls and 35 calls for Meeker PD. These calls resulted in 129 calls for service, 72 for the Sheriff’s Office, 48 for Meeker PD, six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue and three for the Colorado State Patrol. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted nine traffic stops issuing three citations and six warnings, while the Meeker PD had eight stops issuing four citations and four warnings.. Agency assists totaled 15, 13 for the Sheriff’s Office and two for MPD.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s deputies included six animal calls, six assists to Rangely PD, 10 civil paper services, three business checks, three jail transports, four suspicious incidents, three traffic hazards, two VIN inspections and four warrant arrests. An investigation into a sexual offender not registering resulted in a warrant and arrest.
Meeker Police Department calls included eight animal calls, one attended death and one unattended, two citizen assists, one domestic violence, seven suspicious incidents and five VIN inspections.
There were 10 arrests and the Detentions Center currently has 11 inmates. Twenty-four people were arrested, sentenced by court, bonded or are currently in the jail.
There was one assist to Colorado State Patrol on a vehicle rollover that resulted in no injuries.
No DUI arrests were made.
