The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Meeker Dispatch Center administered 608 phone calls last week including 45 911 calls, 46 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 176 outgoing calls. A total of 167 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office, 69 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted nine traffic stops and issued one citation. MPD had 11 stops and issued two citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 13 agency assists, two 911 hang ups, eight animal calls, two civil papers served, two business checks, five citizen assists, two civil issues, two disturbances, nine motorist assists, three traffic hazards, two VIN inspections, four warrant arrests and one each: abandoned vehicle, alarm, back country rescue, K-9 deployment, suspicious incident, traffic accident, traffic complaint, traffic hazard, unattended death.
MPD calls included six agency assists, two 911 hangups, two animal calls, 17 business checks, five citizen assists, two disturbances, four motorist assists, three parking violations, six suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, civil, property, snow complaint, traffic accident, traffic hazard.
There were 16 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue with six ambulance requests, five medical transfers, one backcountry rescue, two assists with Colorado State Patrol on traffic crashes and responded on one crash with RBSO, one alarm, motorist assist.
There were eight assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Thirteen traffic crashes occurred in RBC, two with injuries reported, five involving deer/elk and vehicles.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in eight, one by Rangely Police Department and seven from the Sheriff’s Office. One inmates was released. There are currently 17 inmates in the facility. There were five transports to or from other facilities.
There were no DUI arrests.
