The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 604 phone calls this last week, receiving 24 911 calls, answered 74 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 182 outgoing phone calls. A total of 150 calls for service were created, 92 for the Sheriff’s Office, 60 for Meeker Police Department. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 28 traffic stops issued six citations and MPD had 11 stops and issued two citations. Highway 13 south had five traffic stops and issued one citation and three warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 11 agency assists, one 911 hang up, two alarms, five animal calls, seven civil papers served, two business checks, four citizen assists, two search and rescue, four suspicious incidents, two traffic arrests, three traffic hazards, three VIN inspections, four warrant arrests and one each: disturbance, domestic violence, structure fire, hazmat incident, motorist assist, trespass.
MPD calls included four agency assists, one 911 misdial, eight animal calls, 13 business checks, two juvenile problems, six suspicious incidents, two trespass, two VIN inspections and one each: citizen assist, criminal mischief, disturbance, harassment, MIP, motorist assist, property, theft, traffic accident, traffic hazard and warrant arrest.
There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transfers and four ambulance requests.
There were eight assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in eight and released nine, six arrests for the Sheriff’s Office and two with Rangely PD. Staff transported one to or from other facilities. There are currently 11 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests and seven accidents in the county three involving animals.
