The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 446 phone calls last week including 23 911 calls, 67 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 123 outgoing calls. A total of 143 calls for service were created, 49 for the Sheriff’s Office, 67 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted five traffic stops issuing two citations. MPD had 12 stops and issued three citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included eight agency assists, three 911 hang up, six animal calls, three civil papers served, two citizen assists, three motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, two VIN inspections and four warrant arrests and one each: alarm, business check, civil, property.
MPD calls included four agency assists, two 911 hangup, three animal calls, 14 business checks, three civil issues, five motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, three vin inspections and one each: alarm, citizen assist, code enforcement, criminal mischief, disturbance, in town fire ban violation, funeral escort, juvenile problem, sexual assault, traffic hazard and warrant arrest.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue with two medical transfers, three ambulance requests, one alarm and units responded to a small grass/tree fire.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in seven, five by the Sheriff’s Office and two by MPD. Seven inmates were released. There are currently 11 inmates in the facility. There were five transports to or from other facilities.
Two vehicle crashes were reported in the county one involving a deer.
There were no DUI arrests.
