The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 619 phone calls this last week, receiving 28 911 calls, answered 65 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 184 outgoing phone calls. A total of 149 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office, 69 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops issued one citation and MPD had 13 stops and issued 16 warnings. Highway 13 south had three traffic stops.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included three 911 hang ups, 10 agency assists, seven animal calls, six civil papers served, four business checks, three citizen assists, two domestic violence, six motorist assists, four search and rescue, two traffic hazards and two VIN inspections. One each: civil, disturbance, harassment, juvenile problem, property, suspicious incident, traffic accident.
Meeker Police Department calls included six agency assists, two 911 misdial, eight animal calls, 11 business checks, six citizen assists, two juvenile problem, two motorist assist, three parking violations, two suspicious incidents, two thefts, four VIN inspections and one each: criminal mischief, domestic violence, protections order violation, traffic arrest and warrant arrest.
There were 14 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including six medical transfers, four ambulance requests, one traffic crash, one smoke report and two search and rescue events.
There were six assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in five and released three, MPD with three arrests and two for RBSO. Staff transported two to or from other facilities. There are currently 11 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests and six accidents in the county three involving car/deer.
