Weekly Call Review: October 10-17

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident. This last week the dispatch center received a total of 637 incoming and placed 174 outgoing phone calls, received 43 911 calls, nine 911 hangups and 175 calls for Meeker Police Department. These calls resulted in 123 calls for service, 71 for the sheriff’s office, 46 for Meeker PD, seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, six for the Colorado State Patrol and three for other agencies. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). The sheriff’s office conducted nine traffic stops issuing four citations and five warnings, while the Meeker PD had three stops all resulting in warnings. Agency assists totaled 18, 12 for the sheriff’s office (four for RPD and two for MPD). A 50-year-old hunter from Pennsylvania was reported missing on Sunday and walked backed into camp on Monday afternoon after a brief search by helicopter. Other calls for the sheriff’s deputies included 12 animal calls, three citizen assists, six motorist assists. Four traffic accidents, one domestic violence call, five suspicious incidents and four civil papers served. Meeker Police Department calls included eight animal calls, five business checks, one domestic violence call, two juvenile issues, one motorist assists, three citizen assists, five suspicious incidents and four VIN inspections. There were four arrests and the detention center currently has 13 inmates. Assists to the Colorado State Patrol were six with one injury accident reported that involved a minivan with two occupants, who were transported to Rangely District Hospital with minor injuries. No DUI arrests were made.
