The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident. Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2017 For the last week the dispatch center processed 467 phone calls, receiving 21 911 calls, 80 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 138 outgoing phone calls. A total of 147 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office, 67 for MPD and 15 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were two auto crashes reported throughout the county. The Sheriff’s Office conducted 34 traffic stops issuing four summons, while the MPD had 16 stops with four summons. Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 12 agency assists, one 911 hang up, one alarm, five animal calls, 14 civil papers served, one citizen assist, three civil calls, one domestic violence call, three DUI’s, one fire, five traffic complaints, three warrant arrests and four VIN inspections MPD calls included five agency assists, five 911 hang ups, two alarms, four animal calls, eight business checks, three citizen assists, five civil issues, one domestic violence call, four motorist assists, one restraining order violation, two traffic complaints and three VIN inspections. There were 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue responding to five ambulance requests, two medical transports, assisted MPD on two incidents and one fire. There were four assists for Colorado State Patrol. Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in nine and released four and currently have 19 inmates. There were three DUI arrests.
