Rangely’s new and aptly named Wild Bunch Consortium is preparing for a grand opening celebration Friday, May 25.
The rental and retail shop owned by Dan and Bobbie Fiscus aims to serve those interested in a variety of outdoor recreation activities available locally, a sector of the economy that they noticed was underserved in town. The Fiscus’s believe that capitalizing on Rangely’s outdoor recreation opportunities could provide a needed economic boon to the town, a spark which they hope to help ignite.
“If we didn’t start it, it was never gonna come,” said Bobbie.
A Variety of Retail and Rental
Wild Bunch offers a wide array of rental and retail products including high end Popticals sunglasses, Mountain Boards and skateboards, safety gear, Camp Zero coolers (which are considered comparable to Yeti Coolers at half the price), western themed toys, postcards featuring local artists, Colorado themed clothing and dog accessories and many other accessories for the outdoor adventure lover including SunBum products and energy boosters. The Fiscus’s said they strive to offer unique items that cannot be found anywhere else in Rangely.
Wild Bunch’s most popular items are their rental QuietKat E-Bikes. The bikes are capable of running with pedal assist or on their own power. They also rent inflatable paddle boards designed to take on the lake or float down river.
Services and Repairs
In addition to the retail and rental shop Wild Bunch also offers small engine and bike repair services and is home to Waving Hands Forge, specializing in metal works such as knives, tomahawks and sharpening services.
Grand Opening
While the Wild Bunch kicked off last month with a soft opening their celebratory Grand Opening will occur on Friday May 25, complete with hotdogs and party fun. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for noon.
With the onset of tourist season the Fiscus’s are hopeful that others will take as much joy in what Wild Bunch offers as they do.
“We sell fun,” said Dan. “What’s not to love?”
