The Bureau of Land Management spent more than a week gathering wild horses in the Piceance-East Douglas area, where there was an estimated population of 380 wild horses. Cattoor Livestock Round-up, out of Utah, used a helicopter to gather 238 wild horses by Sept. 26. The BLM would like to manage approximately 135 wild horses in the area. Horses gathered and removed will be available for adoption at BLM’s Cañon City facility.
